Darlington

Discovery Properties have been selected by Darlington Borough Council to undertake a development of the The Oval, a 3 level shopping and leisure centre, in the prime retail district of Darlington. Discovery Properties will develop the £90 million project which will include a leading department store and multiplex unit linked to the Queen Street shopping centre.

Debenhams has now been signed to occupy the anchor department store. The scheme is due to open in 2010.

The scheme is being developed in Joint Venture with Bowmer & Kirkland.

Planning permission was granted in February 2007.
